New Landlord Smoke Detector Legislation


Begining on the 1st of October 2015 new legislation is coming into force which requires the installation of both carbon monoxide and smoke alarms, in rented accomodation throughout England.

The new laws apply to both flats and houses, with Landlords facing large penalties of up to £5,000 if they fail to comply.
